WHO SAID TEAM BUILDING WAS ABOUT BRINGING THE TEAM TOGETHER?
Filming has begun on Gracias, equipo, the new comedy created by Adolfo Valor and Cristóbal Garrido, directed by Diego Núñez Irigoyen and produced by Zeta Studios. Shooting started last September in Madrid and promises to reveal the best (and worst) of teamwork… when layoffs are looming.
The film Gracias, equipo stars Alexandra Jiménez (The Innocent, Under Therapy, We Are Pregnant), Maribel Verdú (Elite, Y tu mamá también, Family), Pedro Casablanc (The Black Widow, Legacy of the Bones, White Lines), and Raúl Tejón (Alpha Males, Soul). The cast is completed by Ismael Fritschi (Infiesto, [REC] 4: Apocalypse), Víctor Rebull (Queen of the South, Soul), Blanca Martínez (Breathe, In Love All Over Again), Saturnino García (Shevernatze: A Backwards Epic), and features a special appearance by Pepe Viyuela (The Hunt).
Gracias, equipo tells the story of Tío Mochales, a company that, years ago, was the undisputed queen of Spanish cheese. Today, it’s a somewhat rusty business trying to keep up appearances. Their latest big idea: to organise a rural team-building retreat in the village where the company was founded. But what was meant to be a getaway to reconnect with “traditional values” turns into a trap when they discover that layoffs are coming — and plenty of them. What promised to be a motivational escape quickly becomes a battlefield of flattery, betrayal, and leaks. A dark comedy about decaying offices, ruthless executives, and employees who no longer have the patience for the modern nonsense of team-building retreats.
