After several romantic failures, Merce and Raúl meet, fall in love and inevitably head towards repeating that oft-lived story. After the first romantic phase come fear, control, neediness, attempts to change the other person and adapt them to oneself… something unhealthy, something that has nothing to do with love, it’s just the opposite of love.
